Would a similar effect be produced by a gaff...Ross<br /><br />Would a similar effect be produced by a gaff via its halyard providing tension to the top of the mast? I'm thinking of a gaff, jib and top sail, while more complex (I like fiddling) it gives plenty of sail area for a short mast.
